Alumni Directory
Attention Alumni, you will be receiving a letter from University Publishing regarding the creation of a new alumni directory. As many of you remember, the last directory was created in 2001 and published in 2002. The information in the most recent directory is very outdated. There are two points of importance here:
- St. Raymond High School for Boys does not benefit by you purchasing a directory.
- The directory, however, is a very important tool for the Advancement Office and your cooperation in updating your information is very much appreciated.
This is a good service that University Publishing provides, independently, in developing this resource. However, please do not confuse this with a fundraiser for the school.
I am available to answer any questions you have regarding the alumni directory.
All the best,
Bill Hanson
Welcome Back!
St. Raymond High School for Boys, as you well know, is dedicated to providing a value-based education for each of our young men. We at St. Raymond are making great strides in advancing our mission. Progress, however, does not come without its challenges. The custom here of giving back, established by alumni and supporters, is impressive. There are many reasons that people support St. Raymond High School for Boys. For some it is their fond memories of the time they spent here. Others give because a teacher or coach took extra time to help them. Still others give because they point to St. Raymond as the place where they got a solid foundation for life. Some because they benefited from a scholarship or financial aid; many give because they feel it is simply important to give back.
It is with a great sense of pride that the faculty and staff speak of all of you who moved on to shape the policy and direction of our city, state and nation. We hope to continue that strong tradition at St. Raymond for all of our present and future students. We look to you to help us build upon the groundwork you laid. We will not be able to climb to the great heights, to which we strive, without your help. In the pages of this website, you see the difference your contribution makes. Through your stewardship our curricular and co-curricular programs flourish. Know that your support will have a positive and direct impact in the lives of our students. We greatly appreciate your kindness and together, we all look to ensure long-term growth and success at St. Raymond.

Alumni Assocation
Next Meeting: May 2nd, 2007 at 7pm
Any alumnus is welcome to attend. If interested, please contact Bill Hanson, 718.824.5050 x105The school community was saddened by the passing of Dr. Nicholas Daniello '66. The leadership of the Alumni Association has vowed to continue on the strong tradition that Dr. Nick helped establish.
The Alumni Association is proud to announce its new president, Mr. Jim Martin '68. Thanks to the generosity of our alumni at last October's Golf Outing, the Alumni Association has committed $30,000 this year to the school. The gifts include: $9,000 in scholarship money to 18 deserving students, $12,500 toward library refurbishment, and over $8,000 for three new SmartBoards to further enhance interactive learning.
The Alumni Association leadership is as follows:

Keep Us Updated!
As St. Raymond moves toward developing a fully interactive on-line community, we are actively seeking accurate contact information for each of our alumni. In the near future we will be organizing gatherings based on geographic region. Please encourage your St. Ray's friends and classmates to visit our website. Your participation will enhance and expand St. Raymond's alumni communications tremendously.
As a first step towards this goal, please fill out our Alumni Update Form so that we have the most current information about you. Even if you currently receive publications from the school, please complete the form. You will also have the option of uploading a recent photo, which will be included on the upcoming Class Notes pages.

GIFTS OF SECURITIES
Stocks, bonds, notes, or other instruments for which value can be determined in the financial market place should be made payable to the St. Raymond High School for Boys. Donors are encouraged to have a conversation with the director of institutional advancement to determine the most advantageous method of giving donations of securities. The school does have an electronic transfer number for transference of security ownership. Internal Revenue Service guidelines are followed in establishing the value of donated securities. Our policy, in most cases, is that the security is sold immediately.

You can also contribute through gifts of life insurance, IRA's, tangible personal property, closely held stock, or remainder interest in a home. All of these contributions result in tax-savings for you and/or your heirs.
GIFTS IN KIND
Do you know you can support St. Raymond fund raising initiatives by providing the school with a gift in kind? These donations to St. Raymond are not monetary contributions, and may consist of furnishings, art, computers, special services rendered to the school, or other appropriate gifts that may be used by the school or sold to a third party. Some examples of gifts in kind include:
- volunteered time in and around the school
- tickets to major sporting events
