Lasallian Youth Runs Successful Toy Drive
Nine members of the school's Lasallian Youth Group ran its annual Toys for Tots drive for the Highbridge Community Life Center. Armed with over 70 toys purchased by 26 homerooms, the Lasallian Youth Group ran a Christmas party for the children involved with the community center's Family Literacy Program on December 21.
Br. Richard Galvin and Br. Robert accompanied the group, and one of the group members played Santa Claus for the children and their parents. Most of the families were not fluent in English, so the fact that Santa Claus was bilingual was a key factor in making for a memorable gathering.
Some members of the group returned to the Highbridge Community Life Center on Christmas Day to serve dinner to the residents of a local homeless shelter. One of the St. Raymond's students played Santa Claus for the residents. Additional photos are found in the photo album section of the website.
