Ambassadors Visit Soup Kitchen
Several Raven Ambassadors served lunch and prepared food bags for families at St. Anthony's Soup Kitchen.
Saturday morning usually means sleep for most teenagers. That was not the case on January 9 for members of the St. Raymond HS for Boys Raven Ambassador Club. They traveled to St. Anthony's Church in the Bronx to staff their soup kitchen. Although the St. Anthony's Soup Kitchen is a regular social justice project of the Lasallian Youth Groug, the Raven Ambassadors took on the project this week. Almost 150 people gathered at St. Anthony's to receive hot meals, take home bags of food, and sort through donated clothes. The Ambassadors filled the food pantry's shelves with various food items, helped to prepare the meal, and then served the guests of the pantry. The day began and ended with a prayer service.
