REGULAR ADMISSIONS PROCESS: St. Raymond HS for Boys welcomes qualified applicants from both Catholic and Public elementary schools. Each applicant is asked to follow the established admission procedure for St. Raymond High School for Boys: 1. Successful completion of the TACHS examination. The TACHS exam is the Catholic High School Entrance examination used in the Archdiocese of New York. All 8th grade applicants must take TACHS exam on November 5, 2010. The cost is $49, and you must pre-register for the exam. 2. Students should place St. Raymond HS for Boys as their first or second choices on the TACHS examination. We only consider third choice candidates if there is room. Academic scholarships are given based upon TACHS results for students in the first and second choices. 3. Your son's elementary school must submit the Applicant Record form. This will include academic grades, conduct marks, and effort from grades 6, 7, and 8. Parents of students from public schools should remind your son's guidance counselor and/or principal about the importance of this step. Timeliness is a key component. If you are applying for admission after the original registration date, please have copies of the 7th and 8th grade report cards in lieu of the Applicant Record 4. Review of the Admissions Committee will take place during the month of January. Acceptance letters will be mailed on January 20, 2011. 5. Please return the acceptance envelope with a $100 registration fee by Friday, February 25, 2011. Registration will take place on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, from 2:30 -- 6:00 pm. A $325 school fee is due upon registration. *** All entering freshmen must take the TACHS exam. LATE ADMISSIONS PROCESS: St. Raymond HS for Boys welcomes qualified applicants from both Catholic and Public elementary schools. The TACHS exam is the Catholic High School Entrance examination used in the Archdiocese of New York. St. Raymond HS will give a version of the TACHS exam on-site. The cost is $49, and you must pre-register for the exam with Ms. McDonald at ext. 102. 2. Provide copies of the final 7th and 8th grade report cards. 3. Provide a letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor or administrator in your school. 4. Review of the Admissions Committee will take place within one week of receiving all materials. 5. Please return the acceptance envelope with a $100 registration fee. Registration will take place after the school receives the registration fee. A $325 school fee is due upon registration.
